Components of Filter press fabric

Filter press: It is the fixed equipment used to separate solids and liquids using under high pressure filtration. Slurry into filter press and then dewatered under high pressure.

Following are the main four components of Filter press:-

• Frame - The press frame acts as clamping device for the filter press.
• Filter plates – There are 3 different plates with different functions; like Recessed chamber, plate and frame, diaphragm squeeze.
• Filter cloth – This cloth will be attached to the filter plate. Solid and liquids are separated with this cloth to form a filter cake.
• Manifold – It consists of piping and valves to control th slurry inlet and connects 4 corner filtrate ports into a common discharge pipe.
